OK.. it's happened again. Several people now, after reading Nine Flights, have commented on what a great romance writer I am.
[insert choking sound here]
What?!?!?! A romance writer?
If word gets out, the informal-yet-influential league of geeky science fiction writers will revoke my propeller hat, and I will be forced henceforth to write with normal pens and pencils after they confiscate my Space Pen. So, to combat this notion that I am leaving the realms of sci-fi, I have whipped up some of the truest sci-fi that I could muster: it questions society, mocks current political trends, references programs and robots and wars and some other good stuff. Basically, it does everything that science fiction is supposed to do. Both stories are set in futuristic high-tech worlds and involve massive supercomputers and absolutely no romance.
This is sci-fi, baby. Put away your hankies. No romance here. Nope. No way.
I'll post them soon under "other stories"... right now I've got to go watch old kung-fu movies or beat up on kittens or something.
