For those who weren't convinced, here is the final proof: We are considering getting a small-business loan and turning our not-fo-profit gentleman's farm (two donkeys and some chickens) into a working, for-profit alpaca farm.

Yup, you heard me. Alpacas. For those who don't know, this is an alpaca:

It's actually a solid business plan, based on proven data from the industry. It should return a hefty profit in the third year of operation, and it will be enough to pay back the loans and even replace one of our incomes (hint: not mine) within three or four years.

No, really. I know it doesn't sound logical, but the numbers are there. Anyway, this is very blog-worthy and I don't have the time to do it justice. For now, shake your heads in disbelief and question my sanity. When I have more information and more time, I'll blog about this properly.

I have two installations of Moveable Type... one is leftover from an old domain that I don't use much anymore. I guess I should probably delete it. Every so often, for some unknown reason, this blog is rebuilt from the wrong installation of MT. Go figure.

I guess I should probably delete that older MT...

I just stumbled across Psycho Sensei a blog that is cosmically intriguing. From some short browsing, I've learned that blog owner Mikki Barry and I have a remarkabble number of things in common. Some of the strange coincidences include:

  1. She hates mindless bulk-religion: "I've been a student of alternative religion since my Sunday School teacher told me to stop asking so many questions she couldn't answer." ...I've never gone so far as to study or practice any particular religion, though I've read a lot about Buddhism. I had a similar experience in Sunday School and like Mikki, I've never looked back.
  2. She is a black belt in TKD. I am a soon-to-be-black-belt in Kenpo Karate.
  3. She is an author. So am I.
  4. She still holds a full time job. So do I.
  5. She is From New Hampshire. I am still in New Hampshire.
  6. She is a pilot. I know the words to the song "My Boyfriend is a Pilot" from the original Macross TV Series.
  7. She is a "wannabe geek". Based on the above bullet, I am a bona-fide geek.
  8. We both hate SPAM. Not sure if she's talking the food or the email, but that's OK 'cuz I hate 'em both.
  9. We both like Macs.
  10. We both have hounds (although mine are not rare egyptian chicken hounds I have both coon hounds and chickens).
  11. We have have crazy birds and chickens... I'm pretty sure that she does not have donkeys, though.

Isn't that weird?

My favorite quote from Psycho Sensei is "BUY MY BOOK!!!!. It is by ME and it has pictures by ME and everything. Why not buy FIVE of them?" ..I like this attitude, and think everyone should buy five copies of my book also.

Thanks to a good friend, I was able to use this online mapping tool to track all of the states and countries that I've been too.

Everywhere I've been is shown as red on the maps. This is not because I painted the town red while there, but rather because that is the color of Hell, which is usually what my trips feel like. (Notable exception: the recent trip to Maho.

The wife happened across this today. I had to share. It contains spoilers for all three of the Lord of The Ring movies, so if you're one of those freakazoids who actually hasn't seen them yet, you might want to think twice before reading 25 Reasons why Merry and Pippin are the REAL heroes of The Lord of The Rings
